Introduction to Robotic Ventilation Inspection and Cleaning Services

Power Vac-BELFOR Services is pleased to introduce you to our robotic duct cleaning technology.

This advanced technological system (BANDY II) ensures complete, accurate, and full documentation of the interior of duct systems; and, ventilation cleaning that ensures quality particulate removal and complete access to ventilation systems.

INSPECTION AND CLEANING PROCESS

Video inspection and recording is conducted with a remote robot (BANDY II), utilising super VHS format for optimum clarity. The BANDY II system is placed inside the duct work and is capable of travelling and documenting up to 100 feet of duct system in one direction. The recording camera and light, mounted on top of the robot, is pivotal; hence, enabling Power Vac-BELFOR technicians to document all areas in front of, behind, left and right of the robot. As Power Vac-BELFOR's robotic system travels through the duct work, it records the actual interior conditions. Furthermore, BANDY II has the capacity to conduct mechanical inspection of safety equipment and ventilation filtration components.

The highlights of the inspection process are transferred to a playable CD. For an inspection project, the CD demonstrates the present, pre-cleaning conditions. For cleaning projects, the CD incorporates the pre-cleaning status from the inspection phase and the cleaning and post-cleaning conditions of the system. Quite often, inspection/cleaning video and documentation are presented to Occupational Health and Safety Committees, facility managers, etc.

Our patented robotic technology also enables us to perform ventilation cleaning with a method that ensures quality particulate removal and complete access to the ventilation systems. Smaller boroscopes and digital documentation are available for use in residential and smaller commercial cleaning projects. Furthermore, the robot reduces the labor involved in the ventilation cleaning and subsequently lowers the cost associated with traditional means of ventilation cleaning. Power Vac-BELFOR's ability to ensure quality particulate removal with documentation at lower costs has made us the exclusive contractor for many facilities.

Our technology focuses exclusively on commercial, industrial and marine ventilation systems. We have had the pleasure of introducing this robotic technology to clients across Atlantic Canada whose business activity requires the need for an uncompromised cleaning procedure.

We evaluate and clean the ventilation system with the following procedures:

Project Specifications - INSPECTION AND DOCUMENTATION

Clients receive a documented report following an inspection and at the completion of a ventilation system cleaning. The documented report includes:
  1. A written summary of the inspection/cleaning;
  2. Observations of identified deficiencies and recommendations for course of action;
  3. A playable CD showing highlights of the ventilation inspection and/or cleaning.
All of Power Vac-BELFOR's inspection, cleaning and recommended processes are completed in accordance with the National Air Duct Cleaners Association (NADCA) Assessment, Cleaning and Restoration of HVAC Systems (ACR) 2006 and performed by our NADCA-certified technicians. The ACR 2006 is an industry standard that has evolved from guidelines, industry standards of care, and research originating from the National Air Duct Cleaners Association along with other organizations dedicated to HVAC system hygiene, remediation and restoration. This standard establishes criteria for evaluating the cleanliness of HVAC system components, and for cleaning and restoring systems to a specific cleanliness level. To learn more about NADCA and the training, standards, and procedures Power Vac-BELFOR uses in accordance with it's NADCA membership, please visit their website at: www.nadca.com.
